Walk the Sacred Path to God

Our indoor LABYRINTH is available the first Wednesday thru Friday of each month

during regular office hours or whenever the building is open for other activities
or by special arrangement.

The Labyrinth is a universal meditation tool.  To walk it is to walk a spiritual path, to make a pilgrimage.

In the Middle Ages most people did not read, so to travel to Jerusalem - to walk where Jesus walked, to pray where he prayed, to stand where he died - was to learn and experience his story.

When the Crusades swept across Europe in the 12th Century, pilgrimages to the Holy City were too dangerous; so walking the labyrinth became a mini-pilgrimage.   Following the meandering path was a metaphor for the journey to Jerusalem.   The center was called the New Jerusalem.  The walk out was just that, the return to the world of every day.

Today when we come to the Labyrinth, we think not so much about journeying to Jerusalem as taking time away from our everyday life to find that inner peace and joy that comes with emptying the mind and letting it be open to the work of the Spirit.

Please contact Sonia Stevenson if you would like more information on walking our labyrinth or its availability.
